Yoga Scandal

Quite sad to read todays newspaper..Once again Sister in Islam(SIS) try to disregard majlis fatwa's decision on yoga..i dun understand why our goverment or jakim still giv spaces for them to speak out their opinion esp in NewStraitsTime or STAR..they are really troublesome,without knowing much about religion, they can easily oppose our fatwa's institution..who are they to do that?? to know more about SIS, i open their website..nearly my eye fill wif tears to read their previous articles..they said :
Sisters in Islam is opposed to any attempt by any government, public institution or the private sector, to force girls and/or women to cover or uncover their heads.

In fact, the Qur’an infers that modesty can be achieved in different forms of dress suitable to different cultures, times and places. Thus, to legislate or regulate on women’s dress based on a perceived single “Islamic” standard is a misguided attempt at representing the breadth of thought and scholarship in Islam.

Al-Qur’an surah Al-A’raaf 7:26 mentions about clothes and adornments, but stresses that “….the raiment of righteousness, that is the best.”

As repeatedly stressed in the Al-Qur’an, there should be no compulsion in religion (Surah al-Baqarah 2:256, Surah Yunus 10:99-100, Surah al-Ghashiyah 88:22).

The decision to cover or not cover one’s head therefore, remains the sovereign choice of the individual, not any external human authority under any pretext.



How can they easily 'use' and misinterprete dalil from quran just to justify their opinion..do they know arabic language? they know asbabun nuzul? they memorize the quran? they memorize hadith? i cannot prove to people esp in english on why covering head is wajib in Islam, but you may read this article from our young scholar, Ust Zaharuddin..

Women should realize that when the aurat is not covered properly, every single man who looks at it will be held accountable for every single gaze. The woman, on the other hand, is not going to be held accountable for that one sin merely; rather she will be held accountable for all the gazes from men that fell on her aurat.

Just imagine how sinful she is for revealing the aurat only in one day. This is based on the Prophet's word:
من سن في الإسلام سنة سيئة فعليه وزرها ووزر من عمل بها من غير أن ينقص شيئاً
Which means: "Whosoever initiates a wrongdoing, upon him are a sin and the sin of every single person who does it without his sin being reduced even a little..." (Narrated by Ahmad and others-Authentic)

If we read utusan malaysia, we may find that they said that our mufti has banned the yoga..but they seem to defend the yoga practices by quoting the testimonis from all other yoga's teacher taht yoga is good, it can cure, heal this and that..you may read here...i agree wif the resolution made by Pakatan Rakyat that we MUST ban UTUSAN MELOYA nh..lgpun they themselves seem bit worried that they will come to extinct if malays dun giv them support..they said,not me! prove? here..utusan=BN, harakah=PAS..alat propaganda mrk..
